With the commencement of International Yoga day, whole world seems to become passionate for yoga. 'Yog' is a gift of the ancient sages of India to the world. When did this 'Yog' become 'Yoga' may be another topic of research. Well, we don't need to go into the intricacies of how Ram became Rama, Mahveer became Mahaveera and Yog became Yoga!
Whether its Yog or Yoga, it doesn't make much difference. What makes a difference is do we understand the purpose and meaning of the word? Yoga (from now on we'll use the widely used version Yoga) is derived from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj' which means to join or to unite.
Now this union can be at different levels. Union of soul with Supreme Soul, breath with body, breath with mind and many others. You may be thinking who has got the time to think over such big terms. Let me share with you, if you give a little time on daily basis to these big terms, your daily affairs will become easier for you. Sounds strange? May be for now, but if you spend a little time knowing yourself and appying the principles of Yogic Living to your life, life will become a celebration, a source of joy.
